FLORIDA NATIONAL GUARD

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
This position is located at J6-JFHQ, St. Augustine, FL
AREA OF CONSIDERATION:  This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709", and is open to Category 1 & 2 Only.  Category 1: All permanent/indefinite military technicians in the Florida National Guard; and Category 2: All current military members of the Florida National Guard.  First consideration will be given to Category 1.

INDEFINITE APPOINTMENT: This position will be filled as an excepted indefinite appointment for an unspecified period of time not to exceed 30 July 2012.  The incumbent may be terminated at any time within this period upon a 30-day notice.  The incumbent will have no reemployment rights to his/her former position or any other position.
INTRODUCTION: This position is located in the Army National Guard (ARNG), State Area Command (STARC) Headquarters, Deputy Chief of Staff for Information Management (DCSIM), Information Management Branch. Its purpose is to create visual products covering a broad range of subject matter areas to enhance or symbolize an idea that has been described in words, to produce an emotional effect, or to present information that cannot be expressed adequately in words alone using artistic methods, techniques and materials.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Plans the visual aspects of publications, exhibits, or presentations utilizing specialized photographic & audio/video equipment, techniques and processes to develop, modify and enhance the final product. Advises and assists in scripting, story boarding and visualizing the art needed in the finished product. Videotapes events and staged performances needed to produce videos requested by the units of the command. Photographs/films required visuals in order to complete needed projects. Selects photos/film clips. Photographs and controls processing of digital and still photographs needed for promotions, Chain of Command display, news releases and morale and welfare pictures.
