DescriptionStress Engineer experienced in composite structures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Working in a product development environment, you will perform stress analysis on new composite components. Conduct design trade studies and optimization considering strength, weight, cost & producibility. Generate certification reports in compliance with FAR requirements, participate in Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Reviews (CDR). Methods of analysis will include Classical Hand Calculations, Finite Element Modeling using tools such as NASTRAN & PATRAN. You will coordinate with internal and external customers through written, verbal and media presentation, consult with subject matter experts within our organization, develop schedules and handle related responsibilities as needed.

- MUST HAVE a minimum of 7 years of structural analysis experience with composites in aerospace or military industry ensuring structure integrity with closed form solutions and/or finite element analysis
- Minimum of 5 years experience with NASTRAN and PATRAN
- Experience in performing the following solutions with NASTRAN: linear/nonlinear statics, thermal stress analysis, dynamic analysis, random vibration and acoustic analysis
- Knowledge in mechanical behavior and failure mechanism of composite materials
